-Socotra Island Baboon-
-A beautiful blue-legged species of baboon spider endemic to the island of Socotra, off the coast of Yemen. This species displays one of the most robust tolerances for communal housing among Theraphosid spiders.
-Old world fosorrial. These baboon spiders tend to be bolty and prefer enclosures with deep substrate that allows for burrowing behavior as well as multiple anchors for silk reinforcement. Given time M. balfouri will coat most surfaces in the habitat with layers of silk.
-Adult size for females is approximately 4-5 inches diagonal leg span.

All sizes are approximations, as these are living creatures some variables will occur. Measurement for spiders is 'DLS' (diagonal leg span). This measurement method is determined when the animal is at rest from the front leg's natural extension to the rearmost legs natural resting position.
