Androctonus bicolor

-Medically significant Buthid. This is a widespread species with populations spread across North Africa and the Middle East. Most specimens in the hobby originate from Egypt.

-Found in dry semi-arid and arid desert habitats. They seek shelter under rocks, tangles of vegetation, fallen wood, and man made debris. They will co-opt pre-existing burrows created by mammals and reptiles, but are not overly active burrowers.

-A. bicolor is a smaller species of the genus, typically measuring 2.5-3.5".
